Helpful Salt
Salt can be very helpful for easily cleaning up messy stuff. If you accidentally drop an egg, cover it with salt and wait twenty minutes because it will be easier to wipe up. If you want to refresh a sponge, which you might want to do every now and then, soak it overnight in a salt solution for one quarter cup per quart of water. If you want to polish copper or brass make a paste with equal parts of salt, vinegar and flour. Get a soft cloth and push it over the tarnished areas, then wash it till it shines! Do you see? There are so many things salt can be used to clean!
Salt can also be used for personal care such as bee stings or mosquito bite relief. Want to get rid of that poison ivy you keep stepping on? Simply put three pounds of salt to a gallon of soapy water and spray it on the plant because that should get rid of it. If wanting to soothe a bee sting, wet it immediately and cover with salt. If you want to relieve mosquito bites, which are very itchy, soak the area in salt water and put vegetable oil. These itch relief purposes for salt can really help your skin!
Finally, these are some helpful miscellaneous purposes for utilizing salt. If you do not want a giant line of ants coming into your house, which can happen if it is spring or summer and you leave food lying around, sprinkle salt in their path. To extend a broom's life, soak it in hot salty water for twenty minutes because it will last longer. If you are lazy, soak candles in a salt solution so they will not drop and make a mess. These are some of the helpful uses for salt.
